Palak Paneer

Ingredients to make Palak Paneer

  • 200 gm paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 250 gm spinach
  • 1/4 Cup chana dal
  • 2 large size onions
  • 3 large size tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon green chilli paste
  • 2 table spoon butter

How to make Palak Paneer

  1. Wash spinach and chana dal and put them together to boil in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes or till the dal is cooked.
  2. Let it cool down and blend it into a smooth mixture in a blender.
  3. Put a frying pan on heat and add 2 tablespoon of butter in it.
  4. Add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste in this heated butter.
  5. Then add onion paste and saute till it becomes translucent.
  6. Add salt as per your taste.
  7. Now add pureed tomatoes and saute till the masala is done and add the blended mixture of spinach and chana dal in it.
  8. Mix well and add cottage cheese.
  9. Cook it on low flame for 5 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with lachcha paratha or rotis.

My Tip:

I do not add turmeric in masala to keep the green colour of spinach.
