White Chocolate Tart with Almond Crust

Ingredients to make White Chocolate Tart with Almond Crust

  • For tart base:
  • Ground almonds - 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Powdered sugar - 2 tbsp
  • Unsalted butter - 2 tbsp
  • For Filling:
  • White chocolate - 1 cup chopped
  • cream - 1/2 cup
  • Ground cashews - 3/4 cup
  • Powdered sugar - 1-2 tbsp
  • Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tsp
  • Topping (optional)
  • Dark chocolate - 2 tbsp chopped
  • cream - 2 tbsp

How to make White Chocolate Tart with Almond Crust

  1. Mix sugar and butter in the ground almonds and press into a greased tart tin, covering the sides as well. (Mine is a 6" tin) Keep in refrigerator.
  2. Heat cream, add in sugar and vanilla essence, take off the heat and pour over chopped white chocolate. Let it melt. Then mix in the ground cashews. Pour over the tart base.
  3. If doing the topping, then melt the dark chocolate and mix in the cream. Put in dots over the white chocolate and make a swirling design. Keep refrigerated till serving time.

My Tip:

Sugar is optional. If you think the white chocolate is too sweet, just omit the sugar. You can bake the crust first if you do not like the raw taste. Just put it in the oven at 180 C for 10-12 minutes. Take out, let it cool and then pour the filling.
