Instant Oats Moong Dal Barfi

Ingredients to make Instant Oats Moong Dal Barfi

  • 3/4 cup moong dal (yellow gram)
  • 1/4 cup roasted oats powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup clarified butter/ ghee
  • 2 tsp Cardamom powder
  • Water as required
  • Pistachio powder 2 tbsp

How to make Instant Oats Moong Dal Barfi

  1. First wash the moong dal and drain all the water from it. Take a pan and dry roast the moong dal until it becomes brown in color and a nice aroma develops.
  2. When it's completely cooled, put it in a grinder jar and grind it well. Keep this powdered moong dal aside.
  3. Meanwhile in a pot, add sugar and water to heat together and make a one string consistency syrup.
  4. In a pan, add ghee/clarified butter. Once the ghee is hot, add the moong dal powder and roasted oats powder. Stir it continuously.
  5. Cook until it becomes brown in color. (This will take 5 - 7 minutes.) Then add cardamom powder to this mixture and cook until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Turn off the gas.
  6. Pour this mixtur into a greased thali or tin. Garnish it with pistachio powder and roasted oats. Let it cool completely, then cut into desired shapes.
  7. Instant moong dal barfi is ready.
