Ingredients to make Healthy Buns

  • 2 cup wheat flour
  • 2 cup refined flour
  • 3 tsp dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp grated jaggery
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp flaxseeds ( roasted)
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk
  • LukeWarm water as required
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

How to make Healthy Buns

  1. Take a bowl, add 1 cup lukewarm water, 3 tsp yeast and 1 tsp sugar and mix well. Keep aside for 5-10 mins to frothy.
  2. Take another bowl, add wheat flour, refined flour, flaxseeds, salt, milk, melted jaggery with ghee and yeast water. Knead into a soft dough. Keep it in a warm place for 1-2 hour.
  3. The dough will be doubled in size, punch it down. Make small balls out of it and place on a greased tray or dust some flour on baking tray.
  4. Let them rise for one hour. Then apply the milk wash and sprinkle some flaxseeds on top of it.
  5. Bake in preheated oven at 180°C for 10- 15 mins or till it gets golden brown colour.
  6. Take them out apply some butter on it .

My Tip:

Cover the hot buns with the damp kitchen towel for half an hour. They will remain soft .
