Soya Keema Matar

Ingredients to make Soya Keema Matar

  • Soya Granules soaked for 20 mins in water - 1 Cup
  • Green Peas fresh or frozen - 1 Cup
  • Onions chopped - 2
  • Garlic - Garlic Paste - 2 Tbsp
  • Green chillies chopped - 2
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - less than 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Bay leaves - 2
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Milk - 1 & 1/2 Cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp

How to make Soya Keema Matar

  1. Heat the pan on high flame, add oil and put the flame on medium.
  2. Toss in the chopped onions and saute till lightly brown.
  3. Add in the ginger garlic paste, bay leaves and cook for 3 minutes.
  4. Add in the powdered spices, green chilies and after giving a good stir add in the peas.
  5. Cook covered, add in half of the milk at this stage. Mix.
  6. Press the Soya granules to remove all the excess water as much as possible.
  7. Add in the granules followed by the left over milk. Cook till dry.
  8. Add salt, taste and adjust the seasoning as required.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander.
  10. If you want slight gravy, you can add some water.
My Tip: Tip: If you are using frozen peas, ensure you thaw them before you start cooking.
