Ingredients to make Chatpati Amal Goli

  • amla 500 gms (1/2 kg)
  • jaggery (gur) 400 gms
  • Juice of 1 lmon
  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 1 teaspoon (crushed )
  • cumin seeds (jeera) 1 teaspoon (crushed )
  • Black salt 1/2 teaspoon
  • asafoetida (hing) 1/2 teaspoon
  • powdered sugar 50 gms ( for coating)
  • salt as per taste

How to make Chatpati Amal Goli

  1. Wash amlas & boil in pressure cooker ( 3 whistles ).
  2. Remove seeds from amlas, mash and make a paste.
  3. Mix crushed jaggery , crushed carom & cumin seeds, lemon juice, black salt, asafoetida, salt in amla paste.
  4. Make small balls of amla paste.
  5. Put in sunlight for a day.
  6. Give finishing touch to half dried small balls by rolling in powdered sugar
  7. Let them dry in room. Store.
