Channa Masala

Ingredients to make Channa Masala

  • Boiled white chick pea 1/2 kg
  • onions 2 medium
  • tomatoes 4 medium
  • garlic 7-8 cloves
  • green chillies 2
  • green coriander 2 tbsp
  • Dry spices - Salt to taste
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • bay leaves 1-2
  • red chili powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • dry pomegranate powder 1 tbsp
  • garam masala 1-1/2 tsp
  • kasoori methi 1 tsp
  • dry mango powder 1 tsp
  • black salt 1 tsp
  • oil for tadka

How to make Channa Masala

  1. Add oil in kadhai, put bay leaves , cumin seeds saute it for a while, grind onions, tomatoes , green chilies, garlic, coriander leaves,
  2. Stir well and add dry masala one by one, saute well until oil leaves side.
  3. Add boiled chick pea with water , cook it for 10 - 15 minutes for a thick consistency. Garnish with ginger Jullien, coriander leaves and green chillies.

My Tip:

While boiling channa add little bit of salt, tea bags for a good color
