Ingredients to make SCHEZWAN MAKKA CHOLAM / JOWAR KUZHI PANIYARAM

  • Raw rice 1/2 cup
  • Par boiled rice 1/2 cup
  • urad dal 1/4 cup
  • makka cholam flour / jowar flour 1 cup
  • salt to taste.
  • oil for deep frying.
  • Ingredients for Schezwan puree
  • Kashmiri red chillies 5 nos
  • Small onions 4 nos
  • garlic 5 cloves
  • ginger 1/2 inch piece
  • Soya sauce 1/4 tsp
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • pepper powder 1/4 tsp
  • vinegar 1 tsp

How to make SCHEZWAN MAKKA CHOLAM / JOWAR KUZHI PANIYARAM

  1. Grind together the schezwan puree ingredients to a smooth paste adding required water.
  2. Soak rice and urad dal two hours . Grind rice, and urad dal together .
  3. Add jowar flour, schezwan puree and salt and blend it well.
  4. Keep aside the batter for two hours .
  5. After two hours , preapare paniyarams in a paniyaram pan with ghee or oil .
  6. Cook the paniyarams in medium flame till the paniyarams become golden brown .
  7. Yummy schezwan makka cholam/jowar kuzhi paniyarms are ready to be served.

My Tip:

I have added jowar flour and schezwan sauce to the batter to make it heakthy and to make a favourite snacks for kids too.
