ABOUT Banana and Dark Chocolate Cake RECIPE

I love banana in desserts, especially a good banoffee pie. But with little time on hand and an inability to master the art of toffee making, I decided to go with a simple banana and dark chocolate cake. If I may say so myself, this is one of the best cakes I've ever made. It's easy to make and extremely delicious. I took it to office and my 'I'm always on a diet' boss couldn't help but grab at least 6 pieces of it :)

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 1/4 cup flour
  2. 2 teaspoons baking powder
  3. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  4. 1/4-1/2 teaspoons salt
  5. 100 grams melted butter
  6. 2 Eggs
  7. 4-5 ripe bananas
  8. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or almonds (Optional)
  9. 1/2 cup dark chocolate bits or chips
  10. 3/4 cup sugar
  11. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. First, preheat your oven to about 175 Degrees C.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt with a spoon.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter and the sugar until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time and then the mashed bananas.
  4. Stir in the chocolate and the (optional) nuts. Combine well and pour into your baking dish.
  5. Bake for an hour or however long it takes till a toothpick inserted in the dish comes out clean. The top will get a lovely brown colour, and your house will smell divine, like bananas and vanilla!
  6. Serve the cake warm.

Loved the recipe and it came out very well..only thing is we need to make sure the dark chocolate is cut into small pieces as they did not melt properly when I made the cake.
