Gajar Khajur ka halwa

Ingredients to make Gajar Khajur ka halwa

  • Grated carrots - 5 medium
  • dates, deseeded and chopped - 3/4 cup
  • ghee - 2 tsp
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • mawa or khoya - 1/2 cup
  • cashewnuts - 4-5 roughly chopped
  • Green cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • almonds - for garnishing

How to make Gajar Khajur ka halwa

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick Kadai. Add grated carrots and sugar and cook for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add milk and cook for 7 minutes.
  3. Now add mawa, dates, cashewnuts and cardamom powder. Cook till the mixture becomes dry.
  4. Garnish with almond slivers.

My Tip:

You can use doodh peda instead of Mawa.
