About Pomodoro pasta Recipe

This simple tomato based pasta is very easy to cook and fabulous in taste.

Pomodoro pasta

Ingredients to make Pomodoro pasta

  • 450 grams penne pasta
  • 700 grams tomatoes finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic grated
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Handful of fresh basil leaves finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to make Pomodoro pasta

  1. Cook the pasta as per the package directions. Strain and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan on a medium flame.
  3. Once the oil is warm, put in the garlic and cook till it turns light brown in colour..
  4. Next, put in the finely chopped tomatoes along with the sugar, salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Lower the heat and let it simmer and cook for 10 minutes or so. Keep stirring in between and crush the tomatoes so that the sauce thickens.
  6. Next, put in the chopped basil leaves and stir well.
  7. Once the sauce is cooked, put in the pasta and mix well.
  8. Serve hot with a garnish of grated cheese on top and few basil leaves.
