Stuffed Lauki Tava fry

Ingredients to make Stuffed Lauki Tava fry

  • 1 medium sized Lauki / bottle gourd
  • 1 big potato or 2 small ones boiled and mashed
  • 2 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 TBSP turmeric POWDER
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp hing
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 4 tbsp find rava
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour

How to make Stuffed Lauki Tava fry

  1. Mash the boiled potatoes, add 1 tbsp chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric, coriander leaves, salt and keep aside
  2. Mix the rava with rice flour, chilli powder, hing and salt
  3. Peel and cut the lauki into roundels
  4. Scoop out the center portion to make a hole.
  5. Add the potato stuffing in the center and press from both sides to the level of the lauki
  6. Roll this in the rava mixture
  7. Heat a Tava coated with oil.
  8. Place the roundels on this and fry on a low flame with occasionally sprinkling some water. Flip once the side is cooked.
  9. Serve it hot with dal and rice

My Tip:

Choose tender Lauki.. So that the scooped portion can be added to the stuffing mix. Fry on a low flame till crispy
