Garlic Butter Cajun Spiced Prawns

Ingredients to make Garlic Butter Cajun Spiced Prawns

  • 250g large sized prawns
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp dry red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cloves garlic grated fine
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder to taste
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for basting
  • Flavored and spicy butter for garnish---
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp dry red chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley

How to make Garlic Butter Cajun Spiced Prawns

  1. Preheat oven to 200 Deg C. Separate the heads and cut off the legs of prawns. Devein the prawns and remove the shell off the prawns keeping the tail portion intact. Give vertical slit in the center of the prawns to open them wider.
  2. Wash the prawns and pat dry with kitchen napkin.
  3. Combine red chili flakes, garlic powder, grated garlic, lime juice, lime zest, dried parsley, Cajun seasoning, turmeric powder, salt and pepper in a large bowl.
  4. Marinate prawns in the prepared butter for 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange the prawns on a baking tray lined with ovenproof parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes and remove tray from oven. Baste the prawns with olive oil midway through baking time.
  7. Combine all ingredients mentioned under garnish.
  8. Remove the prawns to a serving plate and drizzle the flavored and spicy butter over the prawns. Serve hot.
