Tomato and Onion Chutney..

Ingredients to make Tomato and Onion Chutney..

  • onions large 2
  • tomatoes medium 4
  • salt to taste
  • oil a tbsp
  • garlic cloves 3-4
  • Dry red chilli 2 or chilli flakes 1 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • tamarind pulp 1 tsp (optional)
  • FOR THE TEMPERING:::
  • Dry red chillies 3 to 4
  • mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  • curry leaves a few
  • oil 2 tbsp

How to make Tomato and Onion Chutney..

  1. Heat the oil and add the cumin and the garlic. Saute for a while.
  2. Now add the chopped onion and saute for 2 to 3 mins.
  3. Add the chilli flakes and the chopped tomatoes. Let them cook until tender.
  4. Allow it to cool and blend using a little water. If it requires, only then use it, otherwise no need at all.
  5. Temper the chutney and serve it accordingly. Tempering gives it a nice flavour and aroma.
