ABOUT Soya Chunks Biryani RECIPE

Biryani is a favourite delicacy in india. It is rich in butter, spices , nuts and has a mesmerizing aroma . The word biriyani is derived from persian word birian which means" Fried before cooking".

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Long grain basmathi rice- 4 cups
  2. Water-6 cups
  3. Salt- as per our taste
  4. Turmeric- 1 tsp
  5. Chill powder- 3 tsp
  6. Channa masala powder- 2 tsp
  7. Garam masala - 1 tsp
  8. Cloves-10
  9. Cinnamon stick- 1 inch
  10. Soya chunks- half cup ( boiled in salt water and squeezed)
  11. Cardamom- 3
  12. Ghee-3 tbsp
  13. Oil-3 tbsp
  14. Onions-2
  15. Tomatoes- 4
  16. Green chillies- 5
  17. Vegetable of our choice like carrot, potato, peas- 2 cups
  18. Mint- 1 bunch
  19. Ginger garlic paste- 2 tbsp
  20. Lemon-1
  21. Yogurt- 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 30 mins in the rice cooker and switch on after 30 mins.( with spices, salt, oil)
  2. In the mean while, heat a non stick pan and add ghee and oil and add all spices
  3. Add onions and fry for 5 mins and add ginger garlic paste for 5 mins and then add mint leaves
  4. Add all veggies , salt, turmeric, chilli powder, Channa masala, garam masala and cook for 20 minutes.
  5. Add beaten yogurt to it and cook for 10 mins.
  6. Now add cooked basmathi rice to it and sprinkle coriander, food colour and lemon juice and close lid very tightly.
  7. Let it cook in very slow flame for 10 minutes and mix it very gently without breaking the rice.
  8. Soya biriyani is ready to serve
