Beet Root and Fig Halwa

Ingredients to make Beet Root and Fig Halwa

  • 2 small beetroots
  • 6 pieces of figs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • Chopped almonds 7 to 8
  • Nuts for garnishing as per choice

How to make Beet Root and Fig Halwa

  1. Peel and grate beetroots
  2. Wash and soak figs in fresh water for at least 1 hour make a coarse paste
  3. Heat ghee in a kadhai and roast almonds
  4. Add grated beetroots and roast for a few mins
  5. Then cook on simmer with lid till little soft
  6. Add fig paste mixed with beets
  7. Add milk mix nicely let it cook till it thickens
  8. Add sugar cook till it dissolves and mix properly
  9. When oil comes up, turn off the gas
  10. Garnish with nuts and serve hot

My Tip:

Before adding the sugar cook beets till soft
