Apple Halwa

Ingredients to make Apple Halwa

  • Apple - 3
  • Water - as required
  • Sugar - 1.25 cups
  • Cardamom - 1 tspn
  • Ghee - 4 tbsp
  • Cashew - as required ( chopped )
  • Food color - as required ( optional )

How to make Apple Halwa

  1. Wash and peel the skin of apples. Then chop into bite size pieces. Immersed the chopped apples in water to avoid discoloration.
  2. Add the apple to a blender and grind it to a fine paste. Heat a tbsp of ghee and roast cashews till golden.
  3. Remove the cashews and add the ground paste to the ghee pan. Mix well and cook for 5 mins
  4. Once the water from apple mixture evaporates and thickens add the sugar and stir well.
  5. Add the food color and mix well. Allow it to cook till sugar dissolves.
  6. Once the sugar dissolves completely and slightly thickens add the cardamom powder and tbsp of ghee and mix well.
  7. Once it again thickens, add the remaining ghee and roasted cashews to it.
  8. Mix well and cook till halwa leaves the sides. Then turn off the flame.
  9. Hot apple halwa is ready .
My Tip: You can also grate apples and add, instead of grinding it. Adding food color is completely optional. Increase or decrease the sugar as per your taste. While making this halwa it splutters a lot So use big ladle and cook by staying little away.
