Ingredients to make Gajar Ka Halwa

  • Fresh carrots / Gajar 1 kg
  • Milk 1 litre
  • Mawa 200 gm (unsweetened)
  • Sugar 2 and 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Nutmeg powder 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee 100 gm
  • Almond chopped 20
  • Pistachio 20
  • Cashew 15
  • Raisins 1tbs

How to make Gajar Ka Halwa

  1. Peel and grate the carrots.
  2. In mixie jar grind cardamom and nutmeg to a fine powder.
  3. Chop almond cashew and pistachio.
  4. Take a deep vessel add milk in it keep on flame for boiling.
  5. Bring it to a boil till it is reduced to half
  6. Add sugar in it and boil for next 10 minutes. It should become like Rabdi.
  7. Now switch off the flame and keep aside.
  8. Take kadai add ghee.
  9. Then add grated carrots and saute for 10 minutes
  10. After 10 minutes add rabdi and stir continuously.
  11. When it becomes thick add crumbled mawa and mix well
  12. Cook for some more time till milk evaporates and ghee begins to separate from halwa
  13. Turn off the heat and add cardamom and nutmeg powder.
  14. Sprinkle chopped almond, cashew, pistachio and raisins for garnishing. Serve
My Tip: You may use dry fruits according to your choice. you can serve it hot with icecream or cold
