Besan Ki Nan Khatai

Ingredients to make Besan Ki Nan Khatai

  • Besan flour 100 gm
  • Maida flour 50 gm
  • Semolina 25 gm
  • Sugar powder 100 gm
  • Desi Ghee 120 gm
  • Baking powder 1/8 tsp
  • Baking soda 1/8 tsp
  • Cardamom powder 1tsp
  • Nutmeg powder 1/8 tsp
  • Almond flakes 1tbsp
  • Milk 1 tsp
  • Fresh cream 1tbsp
  • Saffron 3 to 4 threads

How to make Besan Ki Nan Khatai

  1. Pre heat the oven to 150 degrees C
  2. Keep all the flours ready.
  3. Keep other ingredients also ready.
  4. Soak the almond flakes and the saffron with 1 tsp milk.
  5. In a food processor mix besan, maida, semolina, sugar powder, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, baking powder and soda mix till all incorporates well.
  6. Now add fresh cream and ghee in small quantities.
  7. The flour will look like breadcrumbs . Don't knead the dough just mix it. If required add ghee.
  8. Lineup the baking tray with parchment paper.
  9. Make small balls from the dough with soft hand apply soaked almond on top of each ball.
  10. Bake in pre heated oven for 20 minutes or it turns to golden brown.
  11. Remove from oven. Let rest for 20 minutes to cool down.
  12. Besan Nan Khatai is ready to serve with tea or coffee.
