GULAB JAMUN

Ingredients to make GULAB JAMUN

  • Dry milk powder - 2 cup
  • Water - 4-5 cups
  • White sugar - 2 cup
  • Warm milk - 1 cup
  • All-purpose flour - 6 tbsp
  • Ghee(melted) - 4 tbsp
  • Cardamom - 4-5
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Ground cardamom - 1 pinch
  • Oil for deep frying

How to make GULAB JAMUN

  1. In a large bowl, stir together the milk powder, flour, baking powder, and cardamom powder.
  2. Mix in the melted ghee, then pour in the milk, and continue to mix until well blended. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
  3. In a large pan, stir together the sugar, water, rose water and cardamom. Bring to a boil, and simmer for just 5-10 minute. Set aside.
  4. Fill a large heavy skillet halfway with oil. Heat over medium heat for at least 5 minutes. Knead the dough, and form into small balls.
  5. Reduce the heat of the oil to low, and fry the balls in batches. After about 5 minutes.they will expand to twice their original size, turn them frequently until light golden.
  6. Remove from the oil,and place the balls into the syrup. Serve hot immediately, or chilled.
