Wash the chicken well and mix with salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and keep aside.
Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes.
Take a pressure cooker and add oil. Once hot, add the spices and saute. Once done, add the chopped onions, green chillies and fry until translucent.
Now add the ginger - garlic paste and fry.
Add the chopped tomatoes and fry until mushy. Now add the chicken and add garam masala and little water (1/4 cup) and leave it to boil until done.
Next drain the rice and add this to the chicken. Adjust the salt and add coconut milk to this.
The water quantity should be 3 1/2 cups for 2 cups of rice. Accordingly adjust the quantity and add coriander leaves, close the lid and leave it for 2 whistles.
Let the steam to escape and serve it hot with a bowl of raita.

In step 5 chicken is boiled until done & then after adding rice again its cooked for 2 whistles.... isn't the chicken over cooked?? please mention what style of biryani is this?? its not among dum biryani, lucknow, kolkata, ambur, chettinad or any other
