Shahi Paneer

Ingredients to make Shahi Paneer

  • Paneer cubes -250 gm
  • Onion - 1 chopped
  • Almonds - 5 nos
  • Cashew - 2 tbsp
  • Melon seeds -1 tbs
  • Garlic pods -5
  • Ginger - 1 inch (chopped)
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder -1 tsp
  • Cardamom Powder -1/4 tsp
  • Saffron - few strands (crushed)
  • Curd -1/4 cup whisked
  • Full fat cream -2 tbsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • Sugar -1 tsp
  • Water -2 cups
  • Butter -3 tbsp
  • Chopped coriender leaves -1 tbsp
  • To temper:
  • bay leaf-1
  • Cardamom -1
  • Cloves-3

How to make Shahi Paneer

  1. *In a bowl add 2 cups water,chopped onion,garlic,ginger,cashews,almonds and melon seeds.Boil it for 10 mins.Drain the water.Keep it aside.Once it cooled grind it to a fine paste.
  2. *In a pan add butter and temper with the ingredients given under "To temper".Add the ground onion paste in medium flame.
  3. *Once the butter ozzes out the sides of the pan add the red chilli powder,garam masala,turmeric powder,coriander powder.Mix well
  4. *Now add the whisked curd,salt,sugar and stock and required water.boil it for 5 mins.Followed by add the paneer cubes ,crushed saffron and cardamom powder.Stir it
  5. *Cook in low flame for 5 mins until the paneer is cooked.finally add the cream and switch off the flame.
  6. *Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
