Carrot Moongdal Salad

Ingredients to make Carrot Moongdal Salad

  • Yellow moongdal- 1/2 cup
  • Grated carrot- 1 cup
  • Green chili - 1 Chopped
  • Grated fresh coconut- 3 tblsp.
  • Zeera- 1/4 tsp
  • Celery or coriander leaves
  • Olive oil- 1 tsp
  • For dressing:
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger in very tiny pieces
  • Sugar- 1 tsp(optional)
  • Blackpepper- 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice- 2 tbls

How to make Carrot Moongdal Salad

  1. Wash and soak moong dal for 2 hours
  2. Drain water from dal .
  3. Heat oil in pan, add zeera
  4. Add moong dal, mix it well.
  5. Steam it for a while so that it all gets tender
  6. Switch off the gas
  7. Mix all the dressing ingredients
  8. Add grated coconut, celery ,carrot ,green chilli and dal
  9. Mix it well
  10. Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves
