Chicken curry

Ingredients to make Chicken curry

  • Half kg chicken
  • 2 to 3 tsp oil
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 Stick cinnamon
  • 1 to 2 green cardamom
  • Half tsp jeera
  • 1 cup onion paste
  • 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • salt as taste
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp haldi
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp jeera powder
  • water for gravy
  • Chopped coriander for garnish
  • Slit green chilies

How to make Chicken curry

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add all the dry spices and fry it till you get aroma .
  2. Add onion paste and fry evenly till golden. Add ginger garlic paste and slit green chilies and saute till the raw smell goes away.
  3. Add chicken and fry it till the chicken turn white and all the masala gets coated on the chicken.
  4. Add tomato puree, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, jeera powder, garam masala and fry it for another 3 minutes.
  5. Add 2 cup of water and simmer it for another 10 min or till the chicken cooked soft..
  6. Add coriander leaves and serve it with roti or rice.

My Tip:

Marinate the chicken with masala or lemon before cooking. This makes chicken more soft and tender.
