Mutton kunna

Ingredients to make Mutton kunna

  • Mutton 1 kg
  • onions chopped 3
  • Kunna masala 1 tbsp
  • ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • oil 1 1/2 cup
  • salt 1 1/2 tsp
  • Sliced ginger for garnishing
  • Kunna masala:
  • cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  • mace 1 tsp
  • Whole coriander 8 tbsp
  • Whole black pepper 1 tbsp
  • star anise 2
  • cloves 1 tbsp
  • Green cardamoms 1 tbsp
  • maida- 2 tsp

How to make Mutton kunna

  1. For Kunna masala roast the cumin seeds, mace, whole coriander, whole black pepper, star anise, cloves and green cardamoms. Grind all the ingredients together into powdery form
  2. Heat oil in a clay pot fry the onions till they turn light brown
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and meat. Fry till it turns golden
  4. Add the kunna masala, salt, red chilli powder & turmeric powder
  5. Saute for 2 -3 min
  6. Cover and cook for 5 minutes
  7. Dissolve all purpose flour in 3 glass of water, add it to the meat and bring to boil simmer on low heat
  8. When the gravy thickens and meat gets tender, add black cumin seeds and cook for another 5 minutes
  9. Turn the flame off and garnish with sliced ginger
  10. Serve hot with sliced green chillies, ginger, chopped coriander, lemon and naan
