Idli Manchurian with Indian spices

Ingredients to make Idli Manchurian with Indian spices

  • Idli – 3 (or) 4 medium
  • Onion – 1 large
  • Capsicum – 1 small
  • Tomato – 2
  • Chilli powder + Coriander powder – 1 tbs
  • Turmeric powder – ĵ tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil – 1tsp
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

How to make Idli Manchurian with Indian spices

  1. Cut idlis into small pieces. Chop onion, capsicum and tomatoes. Take kadai/wok and heat oil.
  2. Pop in mustard seeds, when they start to splutter add chopped onions and fry till transparent. Now add tomato pieces and fry for a minute.
  3. To this add chili and coriander powder along with turmeric powder and salt. Combine and add capsicum pieces.
  4. Add in idli pieces when tomatoes turn soft. Mix and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from flame and add chopped coriander leaves.
My Tip: Adding a pinch of garam masala makes it even better.
