Masala Dosa

Ingredients to make Masala Dosa

  • For dosa:-
  • 3 cup rice
  • 1 cup urad daal
  • 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tbsp tuvar daal
  • 1 cup sour curd
  • salt to taste
  • For masala:
  • Boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp chilly ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 onion finely chhoped
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp asafoetida
  • 1 tsp dry mango powder
  • Handful coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • butter

How to make Masala Dosa

  1. Soak daal, rice along with fenugreek seeds and tuvar daal for 5 to 6 hours.
  2. After 5 to 6 hours grind to a smooth paste by adding curd.
  3. Keep the ground batter to ferment for 5 to 6 hours.
  4. For masala:-
  5. Take oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds curry leaves and asafoetida.
  6. Now add onion and saute to turn pink in colour, add ginger garlic and chilly paste and cook for few seconds.
  7. Add boiled potatoes, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala into it and mix well.
  8. Add coriander leaves and the masala ready.
  9. Heat a nonstick griddle, pour a ladleful of batter and make dosa.
  10. Roast in on medium flame to crisp one side by drizzling some butter or oil.
  11. Spread some masala on the dosa, and wrap it and cut into pieces.
  12. Serve immediately with sambhar and chutney.
