Kara Kuzhi Paniyarams with Coconut Chutney.

Ingredients to make Kara Kuzhi Paniyarams with Coconut Chutney.

  • Par boiled rice- 1 cup
  • Tuvar dal- 1/2 cup
  • Channa dal - 1/2 Cup
  • Urad dal - 1/2 cup
  • Red chilies - 4
  • Green chilies- 2
  • Onions - 2
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • Coriander leaves - a few
  • Carrot - 1
  • Oil - 4 tbsps
  • Salt - as per taste

How to make Kara Kuzhi Paniyarams with Coconut Chutney.

  1. Soak rice, and all Dals with red chilies for 2 hrs.
  2. Grind the soaked rice dals coarsely and add salt.
  3. Mix well into a batter.
  4. Take little oil in a pan.
  5. Add chopped onions, green chilies, curry leaves, and coriander leaves.
  6. Saute them well.
  7. Mix this onion mixture with the batter, add little hing powder.
  8. Take appe pan add a little oil and pour the batter.
  9. Once done turn it with the help of some wooden stick.
  10. Fry the other side with little oil.
  11. Take out when cooked and crisp, add grated carrots.
  12. Grated carrots stick when added to hot paniyaarams.
  13. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
My Tip: Kara panniyarams should always be cooked on low flame.
