Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups of harees /wheat grains
  2. 1 kg (2 lbs) of Chicken deboned
  3. 2 sticks of cinnamon sticks
  4. 1 tsp of black pepper powder
  5. salt to taste
  6. melted butter or olive oil

Instructions

  1. Soak the wheat overnight.
  2. In a very large pot, add the soaked wheat, chicken, cinnamon, black pepper, salt and enough water and bring to a boil.
  3. Cook it till the harees becomes a watery consistency. Remember to stir at the bottom every few minutes to prevent the bottom from getting burnt. This will take some time to get cooked.
  4. With a hand blender, blend it well. The consistency shouldn’t be like a fine paste and left little bit grainy.
  5. Serve it hot with butter or olive oil on top.
