Bread - 4 Slices
Oil for frying
For Batter : All purpose flour - 3/4 Cup
Besan - 3/4 Cup
Tomato sauce - 4 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Water - 1/2 cup or little more
Black pepper powder - 1/3 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Tempering : Whole jeera - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 8
Chilli sauce - 3 tsp
Green chilli - 1 chopped or sliced
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Water - 2-3 tsp
Fresh coriander leaves
Cashew nuts or Pistachios roasted - 10

Instructions
Combine maida and besan in a big bowl.Add and mix ginger garlic paste, salt, black pepper powder, and tomato sauce. Make a lump free paste. The batter should not be too thick or runny.
Cut the sides of the bread, cut each bread slice into 9 squares.
Dip the bread into the batter and deep fry or shallow fry them in batches until red and crispy, I have shallow fried them.
Heat a tsp of oil in a pan, add whole cumin seeds, green chilli, ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, chilli sauce and water. Mix well and add bread pieces. Stir and cook till the water evaporates.
Turn off the gas, garnish bread 65 with coriander leaves, roasted nuts and lime pieces. Serve hot with chai.
