Malpua

Ingredients to make Malpua

  • banana (ripe) 1
  • Apf/maida 1/2 cup
  • Warm Milk 1/3 cup
  • fennel seeds 1 tsp
  • cardamom Powder 1/8 tsp
  • Desiccated coconut 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • oil for shallow frying
  • sugar 1 cup water
  • 1 cup Few saffron strands (soaked)
  • Rose water few drops

How to make Malpua

  1. In a bowl mashed banana, add cardamom powder, fennel seeds, maida using milk. prepare a smooth batter.
  2. Meanwhile prepare one thread consistency sugar syrup.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add maida batter cook. Malpua turning both sides. Dip in a sugar syrup.
  4. Garnish with rose water and saffron strands.

My Tip:

Add extra milk if needed batter should be pouring consistency. Don't over cook sugar syrup otherwise it will crystallize. Dip malpua in sugar syrup for 30 - 40 seconds.
