Ingredients to make Chingrir Jhal

  • 300 gm - Prawns, cleaned & washed
  • 1 - Finely chopped onion
  • 1- Finely chopped tomato
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - Ginger garlic paste
  • For the paste : 1 tsp - Poppy seeds
  • 3 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • 6 tsp - Grated coconut
  • Green chillI - 5

How to make Chingrir Jhal

  1. Boil the prawns with salt.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add onion, fry till brown.
  3. Add chopped tomato and ginger garlic paste, saute till the tomatoes become soft and everything mixes well.
  4. Add the paste and salt, fry for a few min,adding some more oil into it.
  5. Add prawns and mix nicely by adding a little water. Bring to a boil and take it off the gas.
