But she couldn't find. So I told her to grate fresh turmeric ( i have it handy as i drink juice regularly), add 2 tsp water to it and squeeze. I added 1 tsp to marination and 1 tsp to gravy. And after the dish was ready it clicked to my mind Oh, the competition is of yellow color. So I took a picture. And friends here is a chicken with fresh turmeric juice. Ingredients to make Yellow Chicken( with " poor man' s Saffron", fresh turmeric juice)

  • Chicken fillets 2 packets (400 grms)
  • Garlic crushed 1 tsp
  • Ginger grated 1 tsp
  • Curd 3 tsp
  • Raw turmeric juice 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • FOR CURRY
  • onions 3 chopped
  • Shreded Coconut 2 tbsp
  • Ginger grated 1 tsp
  • Garlic crushed 1 tsp
  • Dhania powder 2 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Green chilli crushed 1 tsp
  • Raw turmeric juice 1 tsp
  • Kasoori methi 2 tsp ( roasted)
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • Fresh cream 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tsp

How to make Yellow Chicken( with " poor man' s Saffron", fresh turmeric juice)

  1. Marinate chicken for 2 hours with Ginger Garlic, curd salt and raw turmeric juice ( 1 tsp)
  2. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. Add khada masala. Add marinated chicken.
  3. Pressure cook chicken well.
  4. Saute onions brown. Add Shreded Coconut, ginger, garlic, Dhania powder, garam masala, green chilli paste.
  5. Saute a little and cool. Now blend in mixer.
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Add blended masala and raw turmeric juice. ( 1 tsp)
  7. Now add chicken. Mic and boil for 5 minutes. Add Kasoori methi by rubbing between palms.
  8. Boil for 2 minutes more. Add fresh cream and serve with garnish of coriander leaves.
My Tip: Grate raw turmeric, add little water and squeeze out the juice.
