Ingredients to make Idli aloo tikki chaat

  • Idli 3 (horizontally cut)
  • potato 5-6 large boiled
  • For Filling chopped veggies (1 tomato,1 onion,1/2 capsicum,1/2 cucumber, cabbage)
  • salt as per taste
  • red chilli powder as per taste
  • Chaat masala 1/2 tsp
  • Sambar masala 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper as per taste
  • oil for shallow frying
  • For Serving:
  • Beaten curd 1 cup
  • Sweet and green chutney as per taste
  • pomegranate pearls as required
  • cucumber chopped 1
  • tomato chopped 2
  • Shredded cabbage as required
  • Sliced onion 2
  • Nylon sev as required
  • coriander leaves handful

How to make Idli aloo tikki chaat

  1. First cut idli horizontally and divide it into two parts and keep aside.
  2. Now put chopped veggies in a bowl and mix salt,red chilli powder,chaat masala,sambhar masala with it properly.
  3. Now mash potatoes with the help of bhaji masher and add black pepper and salt.
  4. Now fill the stuffing of veggies between the idliis like a sandwich.
  5. Now pack this idli sandwich properly with mashed potatoes.cover it fully.
  6. Now shallow fry it with some oil.
  7. Now cut the idli pieces and put beaten curd,sweet chutney,green chutney,veggies,Pomegranate pearls,nylon sev.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve immediately.

My Tip:

You can use white or brown bread instead of idli for this yummy chaat.
