Red Capsicum Chutney

Ingredients to make Red Capsicum Chutney

  • 1 Red Capsicum, diced
  • 1 tbsp urad dal
  • 2 tbsp channa dal
  • 7 Dry Red Chillies
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • a small piece of Tamarind
  • Salt to taste
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of Oil + 1 tsp of oil

How to make Red Capsicum Chutney

  1. Heat oil in a pan, when hot add urad dal and fry for 10 seconds.
  2. Add channa dal and fry them till it turns light golden brown colour.
  3. Then add dry red chillies and fry for fe seconds.
  4. Next add garlic and fry.
  5. Then add tamarind to it and fry.
  6. Finally add capsicum and salt to it and fry for about 30 seconds
  7. Cool the mixture completely and transfer to grinding jar and blend it smoothly. If needed add little water while grinding. Transfer to a servi bowl.
  8. For Tempering - Heat 1 tsp of oil in a small frying pan, add mustard seeds, allow it to splutter. Add curry leaves and 1 dry red chilly and fry for 2 seconds and pour over the chutney.
  9. Serve with Dosa
