Ingredients to make Onion paratha

  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • Water as needed to make dough
  • 2 medium sized onions cut into thin pieces
  • 1 green chillies cut into thin pieces same as onions
  • 1/2 cup gram flour
  • 1 tbsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • butter

How to make Onion paratha

  1. Make a soft dough by adding salt and water and keep aside for rest
  2. Heat a wok and dry roast gram flour till light golden colour on slow flame
  3. Now add all dry spices and roast again for few seconds
  4. Switch off the flame and cool this roasted gramflour and then oil into it and make a thick paste
  5. Roll a chapati and spread this mixture uniformly on over it and then thin pieces of onions and green chillies
  6. Then cover with another chapati and seal the edges with fork
  7. Heat a griddle and roast the Paratha with butter
  8. Roast from both sides till crisp on medium flame
  9. Onion paratha is ready , serve hot or in lunch box along with pickle
My Tip: Onions should be cut into thin pieces , adjust spices according to taste
