Simple rava dhokla

Ingredients to make Simple rava dhokla

  • 2 cups sooji aur rava
  • 2 cups of dahi
  • salt according to taste
  • Pinch of soda bi carbon
  • For Tadka:
  • Two tablespoons of oil
  • Half tablespoon of mustard seeds
  • One sprig of curry leaves
  • One green chilly finely chopped
  • finely chopped coriander

How to make Simple rava dhokla

  1. Take sooji in a bowl and dahi in it.
  2. Mix it well so there are no lumps formed.
  3. If the batter is too thick to mix, little water can be added.
  4. Now add salt and soda bi carbon and mix it well.
  5. Put water in the steamer Keep it on the flame to boil.
  6. Take a dhokla plate grease it with little oil.
  7. Now pour the batter into the plate and spread it evenly.
  8. When the water starts boiling keep the plate in it and cover it. Wait for 15 mins.
  9. Check it with by pricking a knife in it. If the knife comes out clean, means your dhokla is ready to take out from the steamer.
  10. For tadka
  11. Heat oil, add mustard seeds curry leaves till crackling, add chopped chillies and pour immediately onto the dhokla plate.
  12. Spread it evenly all over the dhokla. Now garnish it with coriander leaves.
  13. Now cut them into pieces and serve them with ketchup or chutneys or in the way u like

My Tip:

One tablespoon of oil can be added in the batter to make the dhoklas more fluffy.
