Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1/4 cup warm water
  2. 5 cup all purpose flour
  3. 3 tablespoons sugar
  4. 2 tablespoons butter melted
  5. Parchment paper
  6. 1 cup buttermilk
  7. 1/2 cold butter and cut into pieces
  8. 1 teaspoon salt
  9. 1 pack cold cream cheese and cut into pieces
  10. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  11. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  12. 1 envelope active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°. Combine yeast and warm water in a small bowl; let stand 5 minutes.
  2. Whisk together flour and all 4 ingredients into a big bowl.
  3. Cut cream cheese and cold butter into flour mixture with a help of fork.
  4. Combine yeast mixture and buttermilk, and add to flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead lightly 6 to 8 times (about 30 seconds to 1 minute), sprinkling with up to 1/4 cup additional flour.
  5. Roll dough.
  6. Cut with 2 inch round cutter.
  7. Re-rolling scraps once.
  8. Arrange buiscuits into 2 parchment papers.
  9. Brush with metled butter.
