Ingredients to make dhoklappe

  • for dhokla-
  • 1/2 cup semolina
  • 1 tbsp gram flour
  • 1/2 cup + 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp eno fruit salt
  • For tadka-
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 4-5 curry leaves chopped

How to make dhoklappe

  1. take a bowl, add all the dhokla ingrediants one by one except eno.
  2. mix it well and leave this batter for 5 minutes.
  3. heat water in a steamer or kadhai.
  4. place a ring stand and allow the water to steam.
  5. now add eno to the batter and mix properly.
  6. take an appe pan and grease all the holes with oil.
  7. drop spoonful of dhokla batter in each hole and put this pan into the steamer.
  8. cover with lid and steam for 10-12 minutes on high flame.
  9. remove the appe pan from kadhai and allow it to cool.
  10. heat oil in a pan and add all tadka ingrediants one by one.
  11. switch off the flame and apply this tadka on dhokla.
  12. serve with chutney.
