About Mango Kulfi Recipe

This delicious rustic Indian Ice cream is made during summers to beat the heat.

Mango Kulfi

Ingredients to make Mango Kulfi

  • 2 cups mango puree from 2-3 large mangoes
  • 50g khoya grated
  • 2 cups Full cream milk
  • 4 tablespoons sugar(add more or less acc to taste)
  • 7-8 almonds sliced
  • 10 pistachios shelled and chopped
  • 2-3 green cardamoms(seeds removed and crushed)
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • pinch of saffron

How to make Mango Kulfi

  1. Heat milk in a heavy vessel on a low flame for 20 minutes,or until it decreases to about half in quantity.
  2. Add sugar, cardamom, cornflour(dissolved in little water) and khoya into the reduced milk and stir well.Let thicken on a slow flame but keep stirring continously so that no lumps are formed.
  3. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool for sometime.Stir in almonds, pistachios, saffron and mango puree into it.Let cool.
  4. Pour into kulfi moulds and let freeze for 8-9 hours straight.
  5. Serve on a bed of falooda.
