Potato Dauphinois

Ingredients to make Potato Dauphinois

  • 8 Potatoes
  • 2 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 1/2 cup Milk
  • 150g Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Garlic clove crsuhed
  • 1 tsp Coarse/Sea Salt
  • 1/4 Ground White Pepper
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg grated

How to make Potato Dauphinois

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees. Butter the baking dish.
  2. Slice the potatoes and place them in a bowl of cold water. Drain and keep aside.
  3. Heat a saucepan and add the cream, milk and garlic in the pan over low flame
  4. Add potato, salt and pepper and stir well.
  5. Cook till potatoes are tender that is for atleast 20 mins
  6. Add half of the potatoes in the baking dish and sprinkle the cheese over it. Then pour the remaining potatoes and the cream.
  7. Top with the remaining cheese and bake for 40-45 minutes till golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the grounded nutmeg over it.
