ABOUT Super Easy Shakshuka RECIPE

Though shakshuka is originally a North African dish, it is popular everywhere these days. The preparation of this super easy egg dish is easy and interesting. And the Sprig spice blend has made it even more simple and effortless.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Eggs 4
  2. Onion (finely chopped, big) 1
  3. Tomato (chopped) 1
  4. Garlic (sliced) 2
  5. Green capsicum (chopped) 1/2
  6. Sprig Genoa Italian spice blend 1 and 1/2 tbsp
  7. Tomato Sauce 2 tbsp
  8. Pizza sauce 2 tbsp
  9. Chopped coriander 1 tbsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. water 1/4 cup
  12. Herbed butter or ordinary butter 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a pan.
  2. Add the chopped onions and saute until they turn light brown in color.
  3. Next add the chopped garlic and saute until they turn light brown.
  4. Then add the chopped capsicum.
  5. Next add the Sprig Genoa spice blend and mix well.
  6. Add the chopped tomatoes.
  7. Add the tomato sauce too, and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Then cook in low flame with lid on for 2 minutes.
  9. Next add the pizza sauce.
  10. Cook for 5-8 minutes.
  11. Add salt to taste.
  12. Next make shallow wells in the tomato bed to break the eggs.
  13. Break the eggs into the wells carefully.
  14. Cook covered for 5-8 minutes.
  15. Garnish with chopped coriander.
