Ingredients to make Luqaimat

  • For the dumplings
  • Cake flour 1 cup
  • yoghurt 2 tsp
  • Instant yeast 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Warm water as required
  • For Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 and 1/4 cup water
  • Rose water

How to make Luqaimat

  1. Mix everything for the batter except water.
  2. Add warm water little by little to form a sticky dough.Your hand will be covered in a goopy mess.
  3. Leave it aside for an hour until its doubled in size.
  4. Prepare the sugar syrup meanwhile.Add Sugar,water and rose water in a pan and heat it till it boils well and slightly thick
  5. Cool it to room temperature.
  6. After an hour,check the batter ,it must be doubled in size.Beat it gently.
  7. Drop small balls in hot oil until golden in colour. Remove from hot oil and place on a paper towel.
  8. Add these to the syrup and coat well.Serve immediately.
