Quick 'No - Sugar' Saffron Pedas

ABOUT Quick 'No - Sugar' Saffron Pedas RECIPE

Pedas are consumed widely during festivities, and are delightful and appeals to all.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Milk powder 300 gms
  2. Condensed milk 150 gms
  3. Butter 15 gms
  4. Cardamom powder 5 gms
  5. Saffron few strands
  6. Milk about 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Powder a few cardamom pods and leave a few strands of saffron in warm milk.
  2. Melt the butter in a heavy bottom cooking pot or pan.
  3. Stir in the milk powder and keep stirring for about 5 mins on slow flame
  4. Add the condensed milk slowly and keep stirring till the mixture thickens the leaves sides of the vessel.
  5. At this point add cardamom powder and saffron milk.
  6. Keep stirring again till the milk is absorbed and the mixture starts leaving the sides of the vessel
  7. Switch off the gas and leave the mixture for cooling either in the pan or lay it on a plate.
  8. When the mixture is easy to handle, prepare Pedas by rolling a chunk of the mixture into a ball first and softly flaten it
  9. You can garnish the Pedas the way you desire. I used cookie cutters. You can use almonds/pistachio too.
  10. Store it in an airtight box.
