This dal recipe is an easy to cook dish that is highly nutritious and tasty as well.
Wash the dal thoroughly, then soak it in 4 cups of water for 30 minutes or more.
Rinse the water out and wash the dal again. Take a pressure cooker, add in the dal with 4 cups of water, turmeric powder, and salt to taste.
Close the lid of the cooker and cook it on a medium flame. Within 8-10 minutes, the cooker will start steaming, then you can turn the heat to low and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
Meanwhile, take a pan, add the ghee and cook the tadka ingredients together for 2-3 minutes. Then keep it aside.
Add the tadka into the dal and cook it on a low flame for 5-6 minutes while stirring continuously. You can add a cup of warm water or more to achieve the desired consistency.
Transfer the dal in a serving bowl and serve it with hot rotis.
