Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Coconut - 1 1/4 cup
  2. Channa dal 1/4 cup
  3. Urad dal 1/4 cup
  4. Dry red chilies 8
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Curry leaves a sprig
  8. Jaggery 2 teaspoon
  9. Tamarind gooseberry size
  10. Mustard 1 teaspoon
  11. Ghee 3 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Dry roast 1 1/4 cup coconut in slow flame till golden brown
  2. When coconut turns brown and turns aromatic remove from flame
  3. In the same kadai ,add ghee
  4. And fry rest of the ingretients in low flame one by one till aroma
  5. Urad dal1/4 cup
  6. Roasted channa 1/4 cup
  7. Fry till brown
  8. Curry leaves a sprig
  9. Fry till crisp
  10. Fry red chillies
  11. Finally fry mustard seeds for a minute
  12. Dry roast tamarind till crisp
  13. Grind all the ingredients,asafoetida except coconut and jaggery to coarse powder
  14. Then grind coconut and jaggery for one or two pulse to coarse powder, add ground powders to a wide bowl
  15. Mix everything, check for salt and store in an airtight containers
