ABOUT Whole wheat Sponge Cake RECIPE

It is a healthy cake and no fail recipe goes well with evening tea.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Whole wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Powdered sugar 3/4 cup
  3. Baking powder 1 teaspoon
  4. Vegetable oil 1/4th cup
  5. Milk 1/4 cup
  6. Salt a pinch
  7. Eggs 4
  8. Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Sieve the dry ingredients (wheat flour , salt and baking powder) 4 times.
  2. Beat eggs  till it is light and fluffy. Then add powdered sugar , milk , oil and beat well. Add vanilla essence.
  3. Gently mix the dry ingredients with wet ingredients without lumps.
  4. Transfer to a greased  loaf tin and bake at  180 degree centigrade in a preheated oven for about  30-35 minutes or till done.
  5. Demould once cool. Cut into slices and serve warm with tea or coffee.
