About Fried Calamari Recipe

Crispy fried calamari is simple, quick and finger licking good!

Fried Calamari

Ingredients to make Fried Calamari

  • 500 g Squid with tentacles clean and cut into 1/2 inch rings
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 cups flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp Red pepper powder
  • 4 eggs
  • olive oil/vegetable oil for frying
  • lemon wedges for serving
  • 2 tsp garlic sauce
  • onion rings for garnish

How to make Fried Calamari

  1. Mix milk and lemon in a bowl. Wait for 5 mins until it thickens.
  2. Add garlic sauce.
  3. Add the squid pieces to the sour milk and soak for 5 hours.
  4. In a bowl mix flour, salt and pepper.
  5. In a separate bowl whisk eggs.
  6. Remove the soaked squid and drain. Dip in egg and then flour mixture.
  7. Heat oil to 350C in a heavy utensil and deep fry the squid pieces until crisp and golden brown. Drain oil on a paper towel.
  8. Serve hot with lemon wedges and any dip of your choice. Garnish with onions.

My Tip:

Usually, fried calamari goes best with Tartar sauce.
