ABOUT Palak Paneer RECIPE

Palak Paneer is a popular Indian vegetarian dish made with spinach and paneer or Indian cottage cheese.It is served with roti, paratha or rice.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Palak or spinach-250 grams
  2. Panner-100 grams, cubed or cut in desired shape
  3. Vegetable oil-1/4 cup
  4. Garlic cloves- 5
  5. Green chilies-2 chopped
  6. Ginger-1/2 tsp, julienne
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Onion-2 chopped
  9. Ginger paste-1 tsp
  10. Garlic paste-1 tsp
  11. coriander powder-1 tsp
  12. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  13. Red chili powder-1 tsp
  14. Tomato-1,chopped
  15. Garam masala-1 tsp
  16. Water-3 cups +1/2 cup
  17. Ice cold water-1 big cup
  18. Cream-1/4 cup+2 tsp
  19. Butter -2 tablespoons
  20. Roasted Crushed kasuri methi..-1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak palak in water for 15 minutes, Drain excess water
  2. Boil 2 cups of water adding little salt,add palak,cover and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes
  3. Drain excess water and add palak into a bowl of ice cold water for 5 minutes
  4. Drain water and blend spinach with ginger,garlic,chopped green chilies and salt, to form smooth purse
  5. Heat oil in a pan.Add chopped onions,saute until light brown
  6. Add ginger paste and garlic paste,saute until the raw aroma disappears
  7. Add chopped tomatoes,cook until tomatoes soften
  8. Add turmeric,red chili and coriander powder,mix well and stir
  9. Add palak puree and salt. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes
  10. Add 1/2 cup water and mix. Simmer and cook until gravy starts thickening
  11. Add paneer cubes and cook for 2 minutes
  12. Add garam masala and kasuri methi. Mix well and cook for 1 minute
  13. Add cream and butter. Mix well. Switch off
  14. Garnish with 2 tsp cream. Serve hot with chapati or roti
