Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. poppy seeds 4 tbsp
  2. alomonds 25 no.
  3. melon seeds 4 tbsp
  4. whole white pepper 10 no.
  5. sugar 1 cup
  6. Desi ghee 1 cup
  7. cardamom powder 1 tsp
  8. milk for serving

Instructions

  1. First soak the almonds in separate bowl. soak the poppy seeds, melon seeds and white pepper in another bowl for 40 minutes.
  2. Now drain the water and peel the almonds, blend with poppy seeds, melon seeds and white pepper into a fine paste.
  3. heat the ghee in a heavy bottomed pan, add the paste and fry on medium hot heat till the mixture turn light brown add sugar and cardamom powder mix and cook until sugar for 5 minutes more.
  4. switch off the gas. transfer the nishasta into a jar. before serving add 2 tbsp nishata in 1 glass hot milk, mix and serve.
